Excuse my english, I am working on my German.
I recently upgraded the oil pan seal to the JTD aluminium one as a measure to make the engine a bit more reliable after a second turbo failure in 2 years.
The workshop I am working with here in Greece, seem to know a lot about these engines and actually suggested upgrading this and the oil pump itself.
I also want to ask if anyone here has deleted their DPF (hollowed out) and opened up the EGR in the ECU? Or any other measures to remove these life-draining emissions measures from their engines. If you have, how is your engine working so far?
I know this is strictly not legal, but that will be my problem to handle. I just want to ensure a "reliable" engine.
